How to choose the position
After you open the PDF, click a page in the strip or type a number into Insert before page. The new pages go in front of that page. Use 1 to add a cover page at the start, or one more than the page count to add pages at the end. Then pick what to insert:
- Insert images: up to 50 photos or scans, each on its own page, in the order you selected them.
- Insert another PDF: every page of the second file, in its original order.
The updated PDF downloads as soon as the insert finishes.
Image pages fit your document
A phone photo is thousands of pixels wide. Placed in a PDF at face value, it would make a page several feet across next to your A4 or Letter pages. Instead, each inserted image gets a page the same size as the page next to it, and the image is scaled to fit inside a quarter-inch margin. Printed, the document looks consistent.
For a photo of paper, run it through the document scanner first to crop away the table and straighten the angle.
Questions
Do the existing pages lose quality?
No. Existing pages and pages from an inserted PDF are copied without re-compression. Only the inserted images are saved as JPEG inside the PDF.
I want to join several whole PDFs.
Merge PDF is quicker for that: add all the files and drag them into order.
