When you need this
Landlords, employers, banks and visa portals often ask for “a copy of your ID, front and back, as one PDF”. Doing that with a phone usually means two photos, an editing app and a PDF converter. Here the two photos go in, each side is straightened, and both are placed on one A4, Letter or Legal page.
Taking photos that work
- Lay the card on a dark, plain surface; the edges are easier to see.
- Avoid the overhead light reflecting on the laminate. Tilting the phone slightly is fine, because the corner handles correct the angle.
- Fill most of the frame with the card so the text is sharp.
If a hologram still flares, the Glare reduce slider (0–80) tones down blown-out highlights. Don’t push it so far that text near the hologram fades.
Printed at real card size
Each side is placed at the size of a standard bank-card format ID, 85.6 × 54 mm, so a print at Actual size (not Fit to page) matches the original card, as many offices expect for photocopies. By default the sheet is rendered at 200 DPI, which keeps the file small. Tick True-size CR80 @ 300 DPI for a sharper print of small text such as an address or a licence’s category codes.
Keep copies of your ID safe
An ID scan is exactly what identity thieves want. Everything here happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded, but the PDF you download is still sensitive. Send it only through the recipient’s official channel and delete it from your downloads afterwards. For extra protection, download the sheet as an image, add a line such as “For XYZ Rentals only, October 2026” with the watermark tool, and turn it back into a PDF with JPG to PDF. A leaked copy marked that way is much less useful to anyone else.
Questions
Can I get an image instead of a PDF?
Yes. The tool also downloads the combined sheet as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, or both sides as separate images in a ZIP.
My card has nothing on the back.
The back is optional. Add only the front and the PDF contains one side.
