Building a watermark
A watermark here is made of layers. Press + Text for your name, website or “Sample”, or + Image for a logo (a PNG with a transparent background works best). Each layer has its own font, colour, outline, size, opacity and angle, and you can stack several, for example a small logo in a corner plus a faint copyright line across the middle.
Drag layers directly on the preview to place them. Positions and sizes are stored as a percentage of the photo rather than in pixels, so a watermark designed on a landscape photo lands in the same relative spot, at the same relative size, on portrait shots and small images in the batch.
Corner logo or tiled pattern?
- A small corner mark is for credit: social posts, portfolio images, product photos on your own shop. It is easy to crop out, so it doesn’t protect against copying.
- A tiled pattern is for protection: proofs, stock previews, documents marked “Copy”. Repeated across the image, it can’t be cropped away, and removing it takes real editing effort.
Light text with a dark outline (the default: white with a black stroke) stays readable on both bright skies and dark shadows. Opacity between 25 and 50 percent is the usual balance between visible and distracting. The Master opacity slider fades every layer at once.
Marking ID copies
Before sending a photo of your passport or driving licence to a landlord, hotel or employer, many privacy guides suggest writing who it’s for and the date across it, such as “For ABC Lettings only, 12/10/2026”. If the copy leaks, it is much harder to reuse for anything else. A text layer with a tiled pattern does this in seconds, and the image never leaves your device.
Saving the results
Nothing is encoded until you press Apply. Images keep their original format by default. Choosing JPEG for photos with transparency fills the transparent areas with white, and the tool warns you when that will happen. Each saved copy contains only pixels: camera details and GPS location are not carried over.
Questions
How many photos and logos can I use?
Up to 50 photos per batch and up to 10 logo images across your layers.
Can I watermark a PDF?
Not directly. Convert the pages with PDF to JPG, watermark them here, then rebuild the document with JPG to PDF. Text in the result won’t be selectable.
