Fit image or a paper size?

  • Fit image makes each page exactly the shape of its photo, with no white border. Best for viewing on screen, portfolios and photo sets, where nobody will print it.
  • A4, Letter or Legal places each image on a standard sheet with an 8 mm margin, scaled to fit without cropping. Choose this for anything that might be printed, or for upload portals that expect normal document pages.

On paper sizes, the pages are built at 150 DPI. That is sharp enough to print text and receipts clearly while keeping the file manageable.

Not just JPG

Despite the name, this page accepts PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and iPhone HEIC photos as well, and you can mix them in one PDF. Each picture is stored inside the PDF as a JPEG. Transparent parts of a PNG become white.

Keeping the PDF small

The JPEG quality slider runs from 60 to 98 and starts at 90. For documents and receipts, 75 to 80 is usually indistinguishable and noticeably smaller. Choosing A4 or Letter also helps, because large phone photos are scaled down to the page. With Fit image, a 12-megapixel photo keeps all its pixels.

If the finished file is still too big for an email or portal, the PDF compressor can reduce it further.

Questions

How many images can go in one PDF?

Up to 50. For longer documents, make two PDFs and join them with Merge PDF.

Can I put two photos on one page, like both sides of an ID card?

This tool places one image per page. For front and back on a single sheet, use ID card to PDF.

Will the text in my photos be searchable?

No. The PDF contains pictures, not recognized text. It looks right and prints fine, but searching it or copying text needs OCR software.
