Resize images online without uploading
Use a free image resizer in the browser to downscale or upscale photos for web, email, and forms—without sending files to a server.

An image resizer changes pixel dimensions so photos fit avatars, product grids, or email caps. On Mewix, resize runs in the browser—so “image resizer online” does not have to mean uploading private photos.
Steps
- Open Resize image.
- Drop one or more images.
- Set target width/height or a preset mode (downscale / upscale as available).
- Download the resized file.
Need a tighter file size after resize? Follow with compress images. Need a different framing first? Use crop.
When to resize vs compress
| Goal | Prefer |
|---|---|
| Fit a max pixel width | Resize |
| Shrink bytes for SEO / email | Compress (after resize) |
| Change composition | Crop, then resize |
Tips
- Downscale before uploading to CMSs that re-encode huge camera files
- Keep a master original; export web sizes as copies
- Upscaling cannot invent true detail—start sharp when possible
Limits
Mewix is not a print RIP or a generative upscaler. Extreme enlargements will look soft. For print DPI workflows, verify the final print size separately.
