QR code generator online (static, free, no signup)
Create a free static QR code in your browser—URL, download PNG/SVG, and privacy tips versus tracked dynamic QR services.

A QR code generator encodes a URL or text into a scannable square. For menus, posters, and packaging, a static code is usually enough—and you can generate it online without creating an account.
Steps
- Open the QR code generator.
- Enter the URL or plain text payload.
- Preview the code on screen.
- Download PNG or SVG for print or web.
- Test with your phone camera before you print a large batch.
For guest WiFi, use the dedicated WiFi QR tool. For contact cards, try vCard QR.
Static vs dynamic (quick)
| Static (Mewix) | Dynamic / tracked | |
|---|---|---|
| Destination | Fixed in the code | Can change via short link |
| Analytics | No | Often yes |
| Privacy | Payload is direct | Scans may hit a middleman |
| Best for | Menus, WiFi, packaging | Campaigns that need edit + stats |
Tips
- Prefer HTTPS URLs
- Leave quiet margin (quiet zone) around the code when printing
- High contrast: dark modules on light background scan best
- Do not put secrets in a public poster QR unless they are meant to be public
Limits
Mewix does not offer dynamic QR analytics dashboards. If you need scan counts and editable destinations, use a tracking platform—and keep credentials on a static private code.
