JSON formatter and validator in the browser
Pretty-print, minify, and validate JSON locally with a free JSON formatter—no paste into a random upload API.

A JSON formatter turns a one-line payload into readable indentation so you can debug APIs, configs, and webhooks. Pair it with a JSON validator when you need a clear pass/fail on syntax.
Steps
- Open the JSON formatter.
- Paste raw JSON (or a minified response).
- Format / beautify to inspect structure.
- Use the JSON validator when you only need a validity check.
- For auth tokens, decode payloads carefully with JWT decoder—never paste production secrets into untrusted sites.
Formatting stays local—safer for staging dumps that still contain PII.
When formatting helps
- Spot missing commas and trailing commas before deploy
- Compare nested objects side by side after pretty-print
- Share readable snippets in code review (redact secrets first)
Tips
- Validate after copy-paste from Slack—smart quotes break JSON
- Minify only when a system requires a single-line body
- Prefer schema-aware checks in CI for production contracts; this tool is for quick local syntax
Limits
Mewix formats and validates JSON syntax. It does not enforce your OpenAPI/JSON Schema, call remote APIs, or store history in the cloud.
