Compress images for SEO without uploading
Shrink JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF in the browser to improve LCP and page weight—without sending assets to a third-party server.

Heavy images are still one of the fastest ways to fail Core Web Vitals. You do not need to compress image online by uploading hero art to a random SaaS. Mewix runs an image compressor in your browser so SEO assets stay private.
Why compression helps SEO
Search and UX both care about LCP (Largest Contentful Paint). A 2.5 MB hero JPG can delay the first meaningful paint even on fiber. Compressing to a sane weight (often 100–300 KB for a hero, less for thumbnails) improves:
- LCP and overall page speed scores
- Mobile data use
- Crawl efficiency on image-heavy pages
Steps in Mewix
- Open Compress images.
- Drop one file or a batch of JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF assets.
- Dial quality until the preview still looks good at real display size.
- Download the result—or a ZIP for batches.
Use compress jpg for photographic heroes; prefer WebP/AVIF when your stack already serves modern formats (see our format guide).
Practical targets
| Asset | Starting tip |
|---|---|
| Full-bleed hero | Aim under ~300 KB when possible |
| Blog inline photo | Often 80–150 KB |
| Product thumb | Aggressive; small display size |
| UI screenshot with text | Less aggressive—protect edges |
Privacy note
Client mockups, unreleased UI, and personal photos should not hit upload compressors. Local processing keeps those files on your machine.
